What makes ours a quality jerky?

The Sausage Shoppe's homemade jerky uses 95% lean meat and is protein dense. We do not add fillers to our all-natural ingredients. The jerky is low in fat, sodium and cholesterol. We do not use liquid flavorings, chemicals, preservatives or MSG. Our jerky is hickory-smoked.

What is restructuring?

Restructuring is the process of taking the leanest cuts of beef and pork, grinding them together, and forming them into a jerky strip. This allows the jerky to be a consistently lean product, with a tender bite and delicious flavor.

What is whole muscle jerky?

Whole muscle jerky is made from a lean top round of beef. It is then seasoned the Sausage Shoppe way and held for 10 days to enhance the flavor profile and aroma. We then slow smoke the jerky for 8 hours to make it ready to eat.
